Bug Hive is currently preparing for its first public release on iOS and Android. The store pages are not public yet. If you are testing a development or TestFlight build, include that detail when contacting support because available purchases and ad behavior can differ from a release build.
Try these quick checks
- Close and reopen Bug Hive, then retry the same action once.
- Confirm you are on the newest build available through your testing or store channel.
- Restart the device if sound, haptics, ads or the purchase sheet behaves unusually.
- Test once with a stable internet connection for purchases, ad consent or restoration.
- Take a screenshot of the board before making another move if the issue concerns game rules.
A legal move looks missing
First check whether your Queen has entered play and whether lifting the selected insect would split the hive. A piece can appear visually free while acting as the only bridge between two groups. Ground pieces may also be blocked by a narrow gate.
For Spider questions, send the complete three-step route you expected. For Ladybug questions, identify the two occupied cells and final empty cell. For Pillbug relocation, include which piece moved on the previous turn and whether any source piece was stacked. The rules guides cover these common cases in detail.
Pro purchase or restore is not working
Use the Restore Purchases action while signed into the same Apple ID or Google account that made the original purchase. Keep a network connection active and allow the store sheet to finish. You should not need to buy the same lifetime entitlement again on the same supported store account.
If Pro remains locked, send the platform, app version, approximate purchase time, product shown and any store error text. Do not email a complete card number or account password. Apple and Google process payment details; Bug Hive uses store receipts and RevenueCat entitlement status to unlock Pro.
Ads, consent or tracking prompts
Consent forms and Apple’s tracking prompt depend on region, device state and previous choices, so they may not appear on every launch. Privacy choices that can be reopened will be available through settings. An ad that fails to load should never be required to finish a game action; retry with a connection and report any screen that remains locked.
Include whether you were on Wi-Fi or mobile data, whether headphones were connected and which button you pressed. Those details help separate an ad problem from audio, haptic or navigation behavior.
Slow selection, animation or sound
Restart the app and device, disconnect and reconnect audio accessories, then compare the same move with sound enabled and disabled. Tell us whether the delay affects highlighting, movement, audio playback or all three. A short screen recording is especially helpful because a single screenshot cannot show timing or blinking.
For rendering issues, include the device model and whether the board was zoomed or panned. If a stacked piece appears behind a lower tile, capture the board immediately so the stack height and neighboring pieces remain visible.
What makes a useful bug report?
- Device model and operating-system version.
- Bug Hive version or TestFlight build number.
- Computer, local two-player or another mode.
- Base pieces or the complete optional set.
- Exact steps that reproduce the issue.
- Screenshot or short recording, when possible.
- What you expected and what happened instead.
For a rule disagreement, a full-board screenshot is better than a close crop because legality often depends on a distant connection in the hive.
